LEGO Marvel Superheroes 2 - Level 03 - “Castle Hassle”





Overview
I was tasked with building the Lego tech building and level scripting for “Castle Hassle”, the third
level of the main story arc. The level was already designed out, so I was responsible for scripting the core
level game play, and building the puzzles, narrating the player throughout. Both the exterior and Interior levels
had some complex technical scripting. The start of the interior level this introduced being the most
technical process, requiring a few prototypes to be made as this type of puzzle hadn’t been done before in a
Lego game.

Lego marvel superheroes 2 - Hub mission 06 - “Spook tacular parade saga”






Overview
I was tasked with the bonus mission 06 “Spook Tacular Parade Saga” with can be found in the main open
world game world. Using a set amount of unique characters throughout the mission you are tasked with fixing
the parade floats in order to take part in the finale. As the level was already designed, I needed to design and
build the Lego for the puzzles, animate them, and script the gameplay.

Detailed Info
Level Design & Building
Adjust level geometry to improve player movement flow.
Build level geometry using custom modular library within Maya to keep to correct metrics.
Work with game designer to make sure the overall vision was met.
Place level objects.
Scripting
Hooked up and designed all custom animations throughout level (Rolling crates down stairs, carousel, growing plants, ledge grabs and more ).
Scripted player movement cameras and camera areas to highlight relevant mechanics.
Objective tasks.
Destruction physics/simulations.
Utilise redirection techniques that guide the player to the proper direction through the level.
Custom scripted for all Lego puzzles iterations throughout level.
Technical
Optimising Lego meshes to aid level run more efficient during all puzzle sections and other game play interactions fearing LEGO.
Worked with environment, VFX and mechanics team to insure optimisations were also efficient throughout during the level.
Physics set up for swinging axes interaction and wavy tube men.
